Lauterbach... A romantic air resort located
on the "German Fairytale Road", the "German
Half-Timber Road" and the "German Alleys'
Net". Today, Lauterbach defines itself as
a "holiday, adventure and shopping city",
and it is the true cultural centre of the
region situated to the East of the
Vogelsberg.
Lauterbach has a reputation of being the
"Eastern Gate towards the Vogelsberg".
The city is located in the midst of a charming
Mittelgebirge landscape the forests of which
stretch out almost as if to cover the
entire city area. Numerous paths for taking
walks cross the city's surroundings. Whoever
 takes a look at the historic part
of town from one of the slopes surrounding
Lauterbach can easily understand how the little
metropolis evolved by viewing the city's
structure and reading it like the
year circles of a tree's stem.
