Already on the map, the Vogelsberg - Europe's biggest volcano - is very impressive. But don't be afraid, the volcano isn't active anymore. Instead, it is surrounded by a captivating landscape, where the conservation of nature was begun early.
The most beautiful routes can be hiked on top of the volcano ring of the Vogelsberg, on a 125km long circular hiking trail and the Residenzenring, which adjoins the circle hiking trail in the west of the Vogelsberg.
